Lesotho is a small mountainous country enclosed by South Africa. This image gallery contains photos from Malealea village and the city of Maseru.
Lesotho is a mountain country – it has the highest low point in the world – 1400 m is the lowest altitude.
Tourism in Lesotho benefits from its neighbor, South Africa, which is officially the most touristy country on the continent.

Interested in my stories from traveling this part of the world? In that case, you may wanna check out the post on South Africa.

Traditional African rounded houses. In West Africa, I learned that the shape of the roof helps with the air circulation, which keeps the house cool. I don’t really see the point of this cooling strategy in Lesotho, because it is pretty cold here in the mountains: 15-20 degrees during the day and 0-5 degrees at night!
Like the photos from Lesotho? I don’t blame you. Check out my post from Burkina Faso to see some more of the exotic African landscape.

In Maseru, we found this epic trail that nobody goes to (other than the cows and the goats). I could tell by the surprised looks people gave us in the last neighborhood before the ascent.
Fun fact: Lesotho has the only ski resort in Africa. It’s called Afriski Mountain resort, and it’s open 365 days a year. There are some interesting photos on their website.
